Meet NAN, college graduate, successful career gal…ticking biological and emotional time bomb, returning home to Tyler for a friend’s funeral just as she plans her wedding to FERNANDO CANUDOS, handsome Brazilian playboy. Pressured into marital plans by well-meaning Texas grand matriarchs – MOFFY (50’s), Nan’s mother and your new best friend, a consummate Texas hostess, MU MU (70) Nan’s grandmother, and MISS ADELLE (70), and FROSTY FOSTER (70), family friends — Nan initially succumbs to the reigning Tyler social set’s marital bliss scenario.
However, mayhem and old flames erupt as big as a Texas twister when DEAN KEVIN TRAVIS, Nan’s newly divorced, old childhood sweetheart, arrives for the funeral with JEREMY, his obstinate teenage son. The comedy of manners complicates when TEXANA TRAVIS, a shoe-in for this year’s festival queen, takes a shine to her cousin, Jeremy, and is less than thrilled when KITTEN FOSTER, a pie-in-the-sky teen, falls head over heels for him.
Lives continue to intertwine, and after a hilarious romp in Texas, Fernando’s REGAL MOTHER arrives to disrupt the wedding ceremony. Dean finally sheds his former pride, coming to terms with himself, and acknowledging Nan as his true soul mate and the love of his life.
